Quote of the week #7 – Grumpy Lion on “Mr. G’s” political sleight-of-hand with 9/11
“But the thing about 9/11 is that no one seems to be able to identify what Mr. G did that merits his iconic status as a hero of that day.”
(Grumpy Lion, 2007)
It’s one thing for politicians to exploit the windfall from low global costs of finance to pretend they are keeping interest rates down. It’s another thing for a politician to exploit the dead of 9/11 to pretend that they are a hero and protector.
People really need to start to see through this rubbish. It’s dubious enough to lionize politicians when they get things right, but downright dangerous to lionize them when they’ve done zip.
It’s called the cult of personality for a reason.

On the other hand, I Lionize all kinds of things for all kinds of reasons, but mostly to maintain the cult of Grumpy Lion.
Good day!,
