The new title-bar – Avicennia marina
February 23, 2009
That’s Avicennia marina (grey mangrove) in the background, on both sides of the inlet. The photo is taken at Cowell on the north east of the Eyre Peninsula, just north of Goyder’s Line.

You can read more about A. marina here.

Congratulations on mastering the Vigilance template. Great, isn’t it?
It is great. I knew you changed your own template recently, but I didn’t realise until just after I made the change, that you changed to the Vigiliance template yourself.
It does come with enough options for it not to seem so generic I guess.
It is a beautiful picture. So serene. I wish I had a little boat that I could gently stroll down that water way on.
Miss P. I finf waterways in that part of australia decidedly shallow and sandy, might actually be a stroll as you have to drag the boat through the mangrove mud
Indeed, it is shallow. At least it was shallow at the time. When the tide comes in, it gets deeper.
The bottom is rocky as the flow is too energetic for fine sediment to settle.
Oh, and it smells a bit like rotten eggs when it gets hot.
