Short thought…

Instead of dreaming up bad analogies, bringing up bogus statistics and in general, arguing in bad faith, could those people who are against gay marriage please consider adopting the following policy rationale.

“Gays should not marry because I/we do not want them to.”

I don’t think you would be taken any less seriously and it would save us all a lot of time. At the very least, you may score a few more political points for being honest.

Memo ends…

It’s not really marriage people care about is it? It’s the thought of the consummating of the marriage some struggle with. But not so much with the women, some might actually like to think about that consummating?

I’d rather the sex without the marriage myself. Lol.

    No, no.

I think, were they honest, it should be “… because it’s icky“.

    Gold. And so true.

My favourite ‘why not’ came from John Howard where he said marriage was a vital part … of ensuring the continuation of the human race…

While jumping up on a chair and waiving their hands like a sissy?

Bruce, heh. Nah, I imagine it more like… um, covering their eyes but leaving an “accidental” gap through which they peer through.

Great post, BTW. Bullseye, I reckon.

Pretty much cut all the fat off the meat – so to speak. :)
