Innovative new way to get people to add your crappy dating application!

1. Create a social application bound the spread like a meme through friends lists – say an application that allows people to point out categories of friends – on-line friends, work friends, school friends, family friends – it’s all good.
2. Make sure that for a user to add a friend to any such grouping, their friend must authorise their addition – thus becoming a user themselves.
3. Disseminate said application over Facebook and watch the user count rise to the desired level.
4. Update the application with dating features and change the name to something like “SpeedDate”.

Be sure to check all of your authorised apps, not just your recently used ones.

“My Online Friends” relied upon the courtesy of users such as myself to add the application to help a friend, even though we never necessarily used it ourselves. I never would have authorised it if I was sent an invitation to “SpeedDate.”

The sneakiness of it all. Damn crappy, exploitative Facebook applications. Another one un-installed.
